Sick of winter? Spring weather predictions released by NOAA

As winter draws to a close, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has released its spring 2025 weather outlook, offering insights into anticipated temperature and precipitation patterns across the United States.

NOAA's forecast indicates a likelihood of above-average temperatures for much of the southern and eastern United States.

Specifically, there's a 50-60% chance of warmer-than-normal conditions in parts of the Southwest, southern Texas, and the Gulf States, including Florida and southern Georgia.

The East Coast also faces a 40-50% probability of elevated temperatures. Conversely, the northernmost regions of Washington, Idaho, and Montana have a 40-50% chance of experiencing cooler-than-average temperatures

The precipitation forecast presents a mixed bag. The Northwest, Great Lakes, interior Northeast, Ohio Valley, and Tennessee Valley regions have a 40-50% chance of above-average rainfall.

In contrast, the Southwest and parts of the Midwest are expected to see below-normal precipitation, potentially exacerbating existing drought conditions.
