Snowstorm to hit south in DAYS: Map reveals where will be hit hardest

A significant snowstorm is forecast to hit the southern United States in the coming days, with meteorologists warning of heavy snowfall, icy roads, and travel disruptions.

The storm is expected to bring unseasonable weather to states unaccustomed to severe winter conditions, potentially creating hazardous situations.

Early models suggest that parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama will bear the brunt of the storm, with snowfall accumulations ranging from 4 to 8 inches in some areas.

The Carolinas and Georgia may also experience significant snow, coupled with freezing rain and sleet, making travel treacherous.

Local authorities are urging residents to prepare by stocking up on essentials, ensuring vehicles are winter-ready, and avoiding unnecessary travel during the storm.

Power outages are possible due to ice accumulation on power lines and trees, and emergency services are on high alert.

The National Weather Service advises keeping an eye on updated forecasts and monitoring alerts for specific regions.
