Storm systems expected to pile up snow in Northeast and West ski resorts

A series of powerful storm systems are set to pile up snow across the Northeast and Western U.S. ski resorts, creating prime skiing conditions but also hazardous travel.

In the Northeast, multiple storms this week will bring heavy snowfall to ski destinations like Stowe Mountain Resort (VT) and Whiteface Mountain (NY).

By midweek, resorts could see over a foot of fresh powder, boosting ski season attendance but making roads treacherous.

Meanwhile, the Western U.S. is also bracing for significant snowfall.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the Lake Tahoe region, with 1 to 4 feet of snow expected at higher elevations and gusty winds reaching 100 mph on ridges.

Colorado resorts, including Aspen and Vail, will also see steady snowfall throughout the week.

These storms will enhance skiing conditions but could disrupt travel, trigger avalanches, and cause power outages.
