Wildfires prompt evacuations near San Diego amid relentless Santa Ana winds

Wildfires are forcing evacuations near San Diego as relentless Santa Ana winds exacerbate the spread of flames across Southern California.

The powerful winds, which can reach speeds of over 60 mph, have made firefighting efforts more challenging, pushing the fires into nearby communities and prompting mandatory evacuations.

The fast-moving wildfires have already consumed thousands of acres, threatening homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure.

As smoke fills the air, residents in affected areas are being urged to evacuate immediately and avoid the fire zones.

Emergency responders, including firefighters, are working around the clock to contain the blazes, but the extreme wind conditions continue to fuel the flames, spreading them rapidly.

Authorities have also issued air quality warnings, as the smoke and ash pose health risks to those in the surrounding areas.

The Santa Ana winds, known for their dry and hot conditions, are expected to continue through the week, making it difficult for crews to gain control of the wildfires
